Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Research, Evaluation, and Assessment in Education (J-REAd) must comply with the following requirements to be processed further.

General Requirements

-       The manuscript is an original work, has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration for publication in another journal or media outlet.

-       The manuscript may take the form of original research, a systematic and critical review, a theoretical/conceptual article, or other scholarly contributions relevant to the field of research, evaluation, and assessment in education.

-       The manuscript is written in Indonesian or English.

-       The manuscript is submitted through the online submission system on the J-REAd website; manuscripts sent through other channels (e.g., email) will not be processed.

-       Authors must register as an Author in the J-REAd OJS system before submitting a manuscript.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be organized as follows:

1.     Title — concise, clear, and reflective of the article's content (maximum ± 15 words)

2.     Author Name(s) and Affiliation — including institutional address and corresponding author's email

3.     Abstract — written as a single paragraph (150–250 words), covering background, purpose, method, results, and conclusion, provided in both Indonesian and English

4.     Keywords — 3–5 words/phrases

5.     Introduction — covering background, a brief literature review, the research gap, and the research objective

6.     Method — design, population/sample or participants, instruments, data collection and analysis techniques (adjusted accordingly for review or conceptual articles)

7.     Results and Discussion — may be presented separately or combined, supported by relevant tables/figures

8.     Conclusion — concisely answers the research objective, may include recommendations or implications

9.     Acknowledgments (optional)

10.  References — using APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition citation style; use of a reference manager (Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) is recommended

Formatting Requirements

-       The manuscript is written in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format, A4 paper size

-       Manuscript length: 4,000–8,000 words (excluding references)

-       Font: Times New Roman, 12pt, 1.5 line spacing

-       In-text citations use the body note format (author, year) following APA 7th edition style

-       At least 80% of references should come from journal articles, preferably published within the last 10 years

Review Process and Fees

-       Submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process

-       Manuscripts that are accepted for publication are subject to an article processing charge (APC) of IDR 100,000, as described in the Publication Frequency and Fee section
